Hello from Norway! My name is Elizabeth and for more on me feel free to check out the “About” page. I have the great fortune to be living in Trondheim for the 2014-2015 school year thanks to the Fulbright Program’s English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) program. The Fulbright Program was started by United States Senator J. William Fulbright after World War II and was intended to help the “promotion of international good will through the exchange of students in the fields of education, culture, and science.” Fulbrighters come from the United States and from abroad and the Fulbright Program awards nearly 8,000 grants a year in 155 different countries (Fulbright History).

I will be spending my year teaching English and Writing at Byåsen videregående (Byåsen Upper Secondary School) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). At NTNU, I will be helping with two classes in the fall, Academic Writing and Communication for Engineers, while at Byåsen I will primarily be teaching International English to high school juniors. I hope that this website will provide an easy way for people to learn more about the Fulbright program in Norway as well as a way for friends and family to keep up with my adventures.
